Sīdī Abū ‘Abbās al-Tijānī, was once asked about the reality of Sufism. He responded by saying, “Know that Sufism is compliance with Allah’s command and avoidance of His prohibition, externally and internally, with regard to what pleases Him, not what pleases you.”
Imam Malik (R T A) who said: If you practise tassawuf (Sufism) without acquiring knowledge of Shari'a (the Sacred Law-Fiqh) he has become an infidel (Zindiq). While he who practises the Shari'a (the Sacred Law) without Acqiring knowledge of tassawuf (Sufism) has become an debauched degenerate (Faasiq). He who combines both is the one on right path (On The Truth). We believe in spiritual upliftment (Killing the Ego) than materialism (Phisical judgement). Sufism is the only source of peace, unity, understanding, and tolerance in the world today. Islam doesn’t have color or race. Thus we don't have color or race. We are united with common goal, [Allah]. We can be describe best, in the hadith [sayings] of the holy prophet, that says there are stages in Islam.“(Al-Islam, Wal-Iman, Wal-Ihsan) [Sahih Muslim, Book 1: No (1)]. This pease of opus shape our goal towards the last stage of the whole concept (Ihsan), we are bonded by the philosophy that compounded in this narration. We are people from different background yet we are together for a common goal (Allah). We are not ready to compromise our soul to the total control of our (Ego).
We did not come together for the purpose of defending the Sufis. Allah is the One defending them. He, may He be praised and exalted, said: “Surely Allah is the Defender of those who believe” Qur-an (22:38). The defense of the Sufis is thus to remain innocent of anything that contravenes the Shari'a (the Sacred Law). Then they become worthy of the statement of Sheikh Ahmad Tijānī: “If you hear something related from me, weigh it on the scale of the Shari'a (Sacred Law). What balances, take it; what does not, leave it.” What can be added to the truth but misguidance?[Kashful-ILbass]
According to Shaykh Zarrūq: The relationship of Sufism to the religion is the relationship of the spirit to the body, because it represents spiritual excellence (ihsān), which Allah’s Messenger explained to Gabriel by saying, “Ihsān means that you must worship Allah as if you see Him.” Sufism is nothing other than this, since it hinges on the vigilant awareness of Allah (marāqaba) after witnessing Him (mushāhada), or witnessing after vigilant awareness, where no other existence or existent beings appear to the seer (other than Allah).
Is related on the authority of Abū Hurayra and included in Bukhārī, where Allah says, “When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask of Me, I would surely give it to him.
